Katie, the graduate

Long ago, in a land far, far away, I heard about this really cool girl named Katie. For a few years, I was told again and again of the greatness of this gal, but had never met her. Finally one day, we met and I began the journey of realizing how true those praises were. Katie and I were friends, roommates in college and true appreciators of coffee. {Katie moreso than I, as she can drink it black.} She's studying in Colorado now, but will be graduating soon, and I'm so very excited for her.

One afternoon ago, Katie asked me if I would get 'a shot' of her for her graduation announcements. Me and 'a shot' don't really go together, but I tried my best to make this mini-session somewhat 'mini!' We headed out to a well known tree/old-vine-swingin-place-of-awesomeness!

So here is Katie...the beautiful and smart girl that she is.

OOOOOH boy, loved the massive-ness of this place!

Oh my favorite of the day!

I love you, friend!

Sarah Jo & Matthew, the wedding

When you think of life and an abundance of it, I think you should add Sarah Jo and Matthew's name to your thoughts. I was pleased to get to know Sarah Jo during the planning months of her wedding and immediately knew her celebration would radiate pure joy. Sarah Jo and Matthew's story is sweet and full of patient waiting on the right timing. Their day was full of friends that felt like home, laughter among everyone and a warm sun that made everything seem golden.

Please go ahead and prepare yourself for the cuteness:

Sarah Jo stole a few moments away to prepare for the ceremony. I caught her playing beautifully and almost didn't want her to stop. I guess more important things were at hand though.

LOVE these faces:

Ahhhh...the warmth I told you about earlier...

Favorite moment in the ceremony:

As soon as we snapped a few family shots, Sarah Jo grabbed Matthew's hand and said, "Let's go!" We ran to my car and she took me to this enchanted forest nearby. I love when brides do that because then we get photos like this and I love my job a million times more.

Then we headed over to the reception with a backyard feel to have some good ol' barbecue and ice cream.

Sarah Jo and Matthew, many well wishes are sent your way! Thanks a million for letting me join you guys for this marvelous day!

Stephanie & Brent, the wedding

Stephanie and Brent are just some of the realest people ever. I was able to spend some time with them before their wedding and loved hearing of how they met and fell in love. I felt like I was just hanging out with a couple of friends because of their laid back and welcoming natures. Their wedding day had the same feeling about it. Stephanie and I have become friends over the past few weeks and I'm so excited to share all the images from their day.

I loved this moment between Stephanie and her mom.

The cutest mini wedding people ever:

Pardon the double ring shots, but I just love the inscription they chose for Brent's ring.

Right after the kiss, the flower girl loudly yelled, "CHEEEEESE!" It was priceless!

Love those moments right after the ceremony when they just realize they are married!

And then after the ceremony, the wedding party and I just hopped over to Germany for a few shots there.

Brent and Stephanie....I loved being a part of your wedding. Thank you so much for being so true to yourselves!

Sara Beth

Sara Beth and I met a couple of years ago through some mutual friends. She has a lot of similar heart interests and really loves to travel. She recently contacted me about getting some portraits of her for a work related project! We headed over to Fort Worth and had a great time catching up and enjoying the beautiful, warm light.

Sara Beth said she LOVES Texas, so naturally, we headed over to the Stockyards for a bit.

Sarah & Jerry, the engagement

I have been kind of blog absent lately. Oops. And also, to add to the weirdness, I'm going backwards today. I was able to spend the Friday afternoon before Sarah and Jerry's wedding with the two of them to capture the last few hours of their engagement. :-) For a bride to block off a 2-3 hour segment the day before your wedding is a bold move...but for Sarah, it was a wise one. She and Jerry were able to spend some quality time together and we had a fun time just hanging out and enjoying the joyfulness that the weekend entailed.

We walked around a quaint little town near Orlando and enjoyed some time a cute coffee shop nearby! Sarah and Jerry... happy engagement wedding married life! There we go! AND...Happy Birthday to Sarah tomorrow!
Now I think I'll turn around and go forwards again! Keep watch for more shoots and weddings!
